VoIP to become main focus for businesses

Voice over internet protocol (VoIP) services are proving very popular within the business sector.

The use of the technology is growing so rapidly that one expert has claimed that it will start to become the main form of communication for businesses.

Logan Abbott, president of Voip-Info.org, said that the fact major telephone and internet providers are beginning to offer the technology is testament to is rapid growth and uptake.

He noted that the universal availability of the internet will make the technology usable across the board, with individuals also set to start using the technology.

"VoIP will trend towards becoming the main form of communication for businesses and individuals," he explained.

With the move towards Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) technology internet connections used for VoIP services are only going to become even faster, meaning businesses can become even more efficient than they are at the moment.

Trefor Davies, a council member of the Internet Telephony Service Providers' Association (ITSPA), agrees with Mr Abbott, as he recently stated that the future is bright for VoIP.
