VoIP crucial for holidaying business leaders

A host of small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are implementing flexible working measures this summer to allow staff to enjoy the Olympics and avoid the rush hour congestion.

Many are considering implementing VoIP services to ensure that their business continues while staff are working away from the office.

A new study conducted by Cisco, found that the average SME expects to have employees out of the office for around 18 days during the summer months.

VoIP is one solution that can help firms keep their service as normal as possible over summer.

Combining the service with cloud technologies will see employees spending time away from the office in July and August able to continue their normal working patterns, meet deadlines and collaborate with colleagues on new projects.

Even though many firms are planning to use VoIP and cloud technologies as a temporary measure during the Olympics and summer months, 23 per cent of respondents to the survey said they use the technology all year round.
