Millions make use of cloud technology and VoIP while working from home

Millions of employees have been turning to cloud technology and using VoIP services while working from home over the past week.

A study by O2 revealed that while London is experiencing a high volume of sports fans, there has been a 50 per cent increase in the number of people working flexibly, while an additional 30 per cent are getting down to their daily tasks in a home office.

This means that four million people will work from home during the busy two-week period in the capital, saving them around 2.4 million hours of travel each day, and ensuring that it is business as usual.

Gary Booker, GM consumer at O2, said: "For huge numbers of people, where they work does not matter if they are productive – and employers have embraced that philosophy. The technology now means that people can be in touch with the office, each other and their clients whenever and wherever they are located."
