Why your business should switch from 3G to 4G

The rise of 4G across the UK has unquestionably helped many businesses and become increasingly mobile in the way they operate.

Connection speeds for mobile devices have simply never been faster, meaning that it is possible to carry out a whole range of corporate tasks whenever and wherever you are, whether it is in the office or not.

However, despite the clear advantages of using a 4G enabled device, there are still a large chunk of businesses in various different sectors that are staying stubbornly loyal to 3G.

In an age when video conferencing has become something of a hugely important collaboration tool, sticking with 3G simply does not make sense. Considering that 4G services can offer users vastly improved connection speeds, by choosing not to upgrade, businesses are essentially opting not to take advantage of a better service.

It is not just video either, with more companies becoming increasingly virtual in their operations, the use of, and demand for, data has surged in recent years, with files containing important corporate information and data becoming increasingly large.

While this is not a problem for many fixed IT services, transferring these files on a mobile device has traditionally been a challenge.

Yet with 4G this is a problem of the past, meaning that larger files, documents and folders can be transferred at a much faster pace.

It is the same with apps and web browsing, which can also be hugely important to a company's a day-to-day operations.

While it is reasonably easy to browse the web with a 3G connection, there is a very noticeable difference in the time it takes for pages and apps to load with 4G. In fact, the web page will load in 0.2 seconds using double-speed 4G and 0.5 seconds with standard 4G.

That compares very favourably with the 1.7 seconds with 3G, demonstrating the superiority of 4G, a point that many businesses need to recognise.
