Is BlackBerry Fusion the answer to multiple mobile device management?

As more and more employers and workers make use of the latest smartphones and tablet devices there is greater pressure for a security system that can deal with multiple devices.

RIM's solution to the problem is BlackBerry Mobile Fusion (BMF), which will be named as the successor to its BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES).

In the Inside BlackBerry for Business Blog, RIM's vice president for enterprise product management, Alan Panezic explained that the time had come to move on from BES, which he described as a "pillar of secure enterprise device management".

"The evolution of BlackBerry Enterprise Server is BlackBerry Mobile Fusion," he added.

BMF is designed to establish and maintain a BlackBerry Secure Connection from the business network to the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.

It also supports the latest mobile device management (MDM) capabilities available in iOS and Android, and is designed to enable administrators to apply corporate policies and configurations to manage and secure these devices.
