HTC confirms Jelly Bean update for One X and One S

HTC has announced that users of its One X and One S handsets will receive the upgraded Android 4.1 operating system.

According to technology website Engaget, the OS, also known as Jelly Bean, will be rolled out across all variants of the two smartphones.

The firm has promised to issue more details on the upgrades in the coming days as users are becoming excited about the prospect of the new OS.

"At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean," the company said in a statement.

Originally, when the two models were announced at the Mobile World Congress, HTC revealed it would be powered by the previous Android iteration, Ice Cream Sandwich.

Thanks to the new system, users of the HTC models will receive a number of performance-related upgrades.
