Fiberlink’s MaaS360 nominated for GSMA Global Mobile Awards

Mobile device management (MDM) is set to increase in popularity as more and more businesses are implementing the bring your own device (BYOD) trend.

MaaS360 is one of the leading solutions for companies looking to improve the security of the devices used by workers. The tool has now been shortlisted in the GSMA Global Mobile Awards for the Best Cloud-Based Technology for Mobile.

The awards were created to highlight excellence and innovation within the mobile communications sector.

MaaS360 allows companies to manage an entire fleet of mobiles from one place with just a few clicks. It supports all the major smartphone and tablet platforms and provides easy management, reporting and analytics of all mobile devices in your organisation.

By integrating with Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Notes, MaaS360 detects all connected devices and can also be used to discover new ones, which are automatically quarantined until they can be approved.

Its features have meant that MaaS360 has been selected for offering the most innovative cloud-based solutions in the growing mobile ecosystem. The Best Cloud-Based Technology for Mobile category recognises the emerging influence of cloud-based technologies on the mobile environment.

Michael O’Hara, chief marketing officer, GSMA said: "Our judging panel has assessed well over 600 entries and nominations for the 37 awards, the largest ever number of honours to be presented at the Global Mobile Awards. It is a tremendous achievement to have been shortlisted and we look forward to recognising the winners at Mobile World Congress next month."

The software has been chosen as the Best Enterprise Mobile Service at the 2012 Mobile World Congress conference and acknowledged for its ease of use, user and enterprise benefits, ease of implementation, international applicability, return on investment and customer satisfaction.

Neil Florio, vice president of marketing at Fiberlink, said: "As the world becomes increasingly mobile, we're focused on delivering solutions that enable our customers to leverage apps and devices for increased productivity while protecting sensitive data.

"Our customers are the top priority for us and we are committed to making it easy for them to confidently embrace mobility across their business."
