CAGR of MDM market set to grow by 25.4% over the next 4 years

Mobile device management (MDM) has become an essential part of any corporate IT infrastructure, especially in the age of mobile working – a trend that has taken hold of numerous companies working in a wide range of industries.

There has been a growing emphasis towards the use of mobile devices within the workplace, offering greater flexibility and, consequently, increased morale and productivity.

Many of these devices have been used as part of a bring your own device (BYOD) approach, although there have been a number of obstacles that have put many firms off adopting such methods. The most notable concern being to do with securing data.

MDM has therefore become essential to a company's success in keeping data safe, without harming efficiency.

It is essentially a tool that allows users to manage, monitor and track any personal device used in the workplace. These platforms also allow for the distribution of applications, data and the configuration settings for tablets, smartphones, cell phones, and other mobile computing devices (such as phablets).

As a result, the global MDM market is expected to grow at a combined annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25.40 per cent for the period between 2014 and 2019.

That is the main finding of a report published by Market Research Store, which covers the APAC, Europe, Latin America, MEA and North America regions.

It is not surprising to see such an apparent increase in demand, with MDM solutions often providing a high level of security to both company and employee-owned devices across a corporate network. Operators use MDM solutions to manage different devices working on different operating systems that are working on the same network.
