HTC Sense to shut ahead of ‘new and improved’ software

HTC will bring down the shutters on its Sense backup service on April 30th in preparation for the launch of "new and improved services".

The service currently allow HTC phone users to back up their data, but the firm announced on its HTCSense.com website that it will delete customer data once the cloud services are closed.

In the run-up to the end of the service, HTC has encouraged users to back up their data elsewhere, recommending visiting Google Play for a suitable application.

HTC is yet to give any indication of what the new improvements will be, when they are ready, or what alternatives there are to HTCSense.com in the meantime.

It is expected that the firm will implement further Dropbox integration for the HTC One Range, which will allow customers to use 25 gigabytes of free storage.

The service will be integrated with Sense 4 so that users can easily store data online at Dropbox, HTC said.
