Business people encouraged to work from home during Olympics

The Olympic Games will soon be getting underway in the UK and business people should consider working from home during this period.

Rene Hendrickse, iPass EMEA vice president, said that many employees and organisations already have the technology in place which facilitates carrying out daily tasks while travelling.

Therefore, things like laptops and tablets, coupled with cloud computing, should be taken advantage of to work from home in order to avoid busy roads and transport networks.

He added that IT departments have been found to be "lagging behind" when it comes to technology and flexibility, as the user is now dictating what technology is needed.

Training should be given to members of staff who are going to be working from home so that they know how to use the technology properly.

Ensuring that you can gain access to the cloud and being able to open critical documentation will be a key part of allowing people to operate without disruption during the Games.
