Smartphone-maker LG has introduced the latest premium product in its range, the V40 ThinQ, which the company describes as an "uncompromising multimedia powerhouse".
Featuring a 6.4-inch FullVision OLED display with thin bezels, the phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and 5GB of RAM, as well as a choice of 64GB or 128GB of storage, which should provide the high level of performance that power users demand.
Hwang Jeong-hwan, president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said: "The LG V40 ThinQ was designed with the main goal to deliver an uncompromised experience for users to create, consume and share high-quality content. The versatility of the camera and the proven V series platform makes the LG V40 ThinQ a serious option for customers looking for a premium smartphone that does it all."
Indeed, the camera array is one of the LG V40 ThinQ's most notable features. The smartphone comes with a total of five cameras, three on the rear and two front-facing lenses.
On the back, the phone includes 16MP super wide-angle, 12MP standard angle and 12MP telephoto cameras. The three lenses work together to allow photographers to frame different shots without changing position relative to the subject, while the Triple Shot feature stitches together the images captured with each of the three lenses into a short video file for easy sharing.
Meanwhile, the two front-facing cameras include a 5MP wide-angle lens and 8MP standard angle that "work in tandem to create the perfect bokeh effect, with an on-screen slider to adjust the amount of background blur". Selfie fans will also be able to take advantage of a wide range of other special effects and features to personalise their photos even more.
The device also offers a thin, light design that remains highly durable. Despite its large screen, it offers a slim frame that is just 77mm thick and weighs only 169g. It is also IP68 rated for waterproofing and meets the US Department of Defense's requirements for durability, passing the 14 MIL-STD 810G Transit Drop Test categories for suitability in military operations.
