Broadband

Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC)

FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet), or sometimes incorrectly described as fibre broadband is the next generation broadband connectivity. It brings a fibre optic connection, much closer to your premises, which gives a greater probability of achieving faster download and upload speeds typically 80Mbps downstream and 20Mbps upstream depending on the location and distance from the telephone exchange.

How does it work?

FTTC brings fibre adjacent to the BT PCP the fibre is then interconnected to a DSLAM which in turn connects to the copper wiring to your premises.

FTTC broadband comes in two variants which offer a downstream line speed of 80meg (80Mbps) or 40meg (40Mbps), but the actual maximum speed of the service will be slightly lower than this at around 78 / 39Mbps.

Not everyone will receive the maximum speed as it depends on the length of your phone line to the cabinet which is providing your broadband service, but BT Openreach will guarantee that the minimum sync speed will be 15Mbps or 30Mbps.

ADSL 2+ Broadband

Up to 24Mbit/s downstream and 2.5Mbit/s upstream Business Broadband

Arrow’s new range of business grade broadband packages has been designed solely to meet the needs of business customers.  With 3 simple low cost packages to meet your requirements, they are ideal for main office location or home workers.

Our broadband packages provide faster download and upload speeds over a purpose built ADSL 2+ network, and not an old ADSL network that has been upgraded time and time again.

The network is maintained to ensure a very low contention ration, so your bandwidth isn’t seriously affected by other users and is not artificially restricted which means you get a consistent real world speed.
